Creator Series - Pansy Ceramics by Alina
A pastel-coloured creator series with wonderful Alina who started Pansy in Amsterdam after moving here from Australia.

Why did you decide to start your own creations?
I’ve always had lots of creative dreams and ambitions, and one of them was to have my own little world in the form of a space where I could make art, meet new people, and organise fun events. I have a strong sense of who I am and what I like, and it’s something I really want to share with the world.
What inspires you?
Flowers, love stories, childhood nostalgia, and making friends.
What is your process and what is important to you?
I think it’s really important to make time to create with no particular outcome in mind, and to balance that out with projects that are really intentional.
Some days I’ll just sit down with some clay and see what happens, other times I’ll come up with a theme or a concept that I’m really excited about and schedule everything on a colourful and organised Notion board to make it happen.
What little moment made you feel proud when looking back?
I got the keys to pansy in March 2020, an incredibly uncertain time and difficult to navigate suddenly building a physical business, as well as adjusting to only _ online. Looking back at the past two years gives me a lot of strength and pride in the work that I do. That I was able to survive, build a loving and caring community of customers that also love pansy, and being able to grow into a bigger space at the start of this year (2022) to achieve even more of what I hope to do.
